What you will do
- Own and improve OpenAPI-driven API reference documentation for chat, completions, embeddings, fine-tuning, and model routing endpoints.
- Create and maintain getting-started guides, SDK quickstarts, authentication instructions, integration patterns, and runnable sample code.
- Establish a release notes and changelog process covering model updates, new endpoints, pricing changes, deprecations, and breaking API changes.
- Own the Markdown/MDX, Git-based review, OpenAPI linting, documentation generation, and information architecture workflows.
- Interview engineers, product managers, and support staff to document technical behavior, limitations, design decisions, and API edge cases.
- Use developer feedback, support tickets, search data, and page feedback to prioritize documentation improvements and identify API usability issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional technical writing experience, including at least 2 years documenting APIs or SDKs for developer-facing products.
- Hands-on experience authoring and maintaining OpenAPI or Swagger specifications and generating reference documentation from them.
- Published getting-started guides, quickstarts, or tutorials that demonstrate original technical writing for working integrations.
- Experience with Markdown or MDX, Git-based version control, pull request reviews, and documentation platforms or static site generators.
- Ability to read Go, Python, or TypeScript and inspect API traces to verify documentation independently.
- Experience running release notes or changelog processes alongside frequent engineering releases.
Nice to have
- Experience with API-first, infrastructure, cloud, or AI platform companies.
- Familiarity with Docusaurus, Mintlify, ReadMe, GitBook, or equivalent documentation platforms.
