Location: Singapore, Singapore. Hybrid and asynchronous workplace with an office location in Singapore.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate next-generation GitLab CI/CD instances across on-premise and public-cloud environments.
• Develop and extend CI/CD features using vendor-provided software stacks.
• Improve platform security, quality, performance, availability, and operational resilience.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues across GitLab and the broader SDLC ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering stakeholders, gathering and reporting metrics.
• Provide technical guidance on software repositories, build systems, deployment, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of software engineering experience and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Professional experience with cloud deployment patterns, especially AWS and HashiCorp Terraform.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Go, Java, Python, C, or C++.
• Experience with Git, Linux application operations, networking protocols, software design, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience across the lifecycle of developing, debugging, and operating distributed systems.
• Ability to take ownership of requirements, communicate technical challenges, and deliver solutions.

Nice to have

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Linux internals and networking protocols including TCP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, DNS, TLS, HTTP, and SSH.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code technologies.
