Frontend Engineer (JavaScript/TypeScript)

Location: Kaunas, Lithuania; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the Kaunas office required

Base pay: €3,330–€6,660 gross monthly; additional yearly bonuses of approximately 10% of annual salary and Booking Holdings RSUs worth $20,000 gross, with possible yearly refreshes.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, monitor, and maintain complex frontend features end to end.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Lead technical design discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and document architectural decisions.
• Identify and resolve technical debt, performance issues, and reliability risks.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to clarify requirements and deliver user-focused features.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to agile ceremonies, and improve team tooling and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Production experience independently designing and delivering complex frontend features.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with experience in React or a similar modern component-based framework.
• Understanding of frontend integration with APIs and backend services, including debugging and optimization.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, or end-to-end testing and a strong focus on code quality.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Comfort working from the Kaunas office at least three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with advertising technology, user engagement features, or revenue-impacting frontend products.
• Familiarity with A/B experimentation frameworks or feature flagging systems.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers.
