TL;DR
Lead Electrical Power Systems Engineer (Offshore Renewables): Owning the electrical architecture of wave energy converters and CorPack technologies from concept through certification, manufacturing, testing, and field commissioning with an accent on power electronics, grid connection, safety, and marine standards. Focus on designing medium- and high-voltage systems, developing protection and distribution studies, ensuring IBR compliance, and solving complex reliability and certification challenges for commercial wave-energy arrays.

What you will do

  • Act as the principal electrical engineering authority for wave energy converters and CorPack technologies.
  • Design electrical systems and power architectures covering powertrains, power electronics, DC distribution, and grid connections.
  • Define subsystem, component, and interface requirements while balancing performance, safety, standards compliance, cost, and functionality.
  • Develop and review single-line diagrams, cable routing, load lists, protection studies, I/O lists, and fieldbus designs.
  • Own the electrical design lifecycle from concept and detailed design through manufacturing, testing, certification, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.
  • Mentor engineers, support risk and reliability analyses, and contribute to the technology roadmap and R&D strategy.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience designing grid-connected power electronics, including generators, inverters, and/or grid batteries.
  • Experience with Inverter Based Resource grid connection and compliance.
  • Experience with medium- or high-voltage systems and related personnel safety requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate with mechanical, systems, control, marine, suppliers, and certification teams.

Nice to have

  • DNV certification experience or certification experience from aerospace, automotive, or other demanding sectors.
  • Experience with DC distribution design and electrical safety of machinery.
  • Experience in marine, offshore, or subsea electrical systems.
