Lead Manufacturing Engineer, Material Flow

Location: Huntington Beach, California, United States. The role requires extended hours and weekends as needed. Applicants must meet U.S. ITAR work-authorization requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 USD annually, plus performance incentives, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead material-flow strategy and implementation for production growth across multiple product lines and manufacturing sites.
• Map current and future-state value streams and build discrete-event simulation models to evaluate routing, staging, capacity, and capital decisions.
• Develop PFEP, storage, packaging, replenishment, kitting, sequencing, milk-run, line-side delivery, and returnable-packaging processes.
• Coordinate facilities, construction, integrators, equipment suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders on site-ready material-flow solutions.
• Design traceable receiving, warehousing, point-of-use, scan, labeling, cycle-count, FEFO, and shelf-life processes for aerospace materials.
• Implement material-handling equipment, automation, digital tracking, analytics, and AI-enabled tools while monitoring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and schedule performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, logistics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of experience in material flow, manufacturing, logistics, or supply-chain engineering in complex production environments.
• Experience taking material-flow solutions from analysis and design through implementation, production ramp, and operational handoff.
• Proficiency with facility and process layout tools such as AutoCAD and discrete-event simulation tools such as FlexSim, AnyLogic, Simio, or Siemens Plant Simulation.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, MES, WMS, inventory accuracy, and lot or serial traceability systems.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and execute safely and consistently in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, regulated manufacturing, or high-volume automotive manufacturing.
• Familiarity with AS9100, AS5553, AS6174, MIL-STD-129, MIL-STD-130, MIL-STD-2073, IUID, configuration management, and product preservation.
• Experience with ITAR-controlled programs, export-controlled work, Power BI, Tableau, Python, automation, digital material tracking, or warehouse optimization.
• Master’s degree or professional certification in supply chain, industrial engineering, or project management.
