TL;DR
Technical Analyst (APIs/SQL): Defining technical system requirements for web, mobile, chat, and voice solutions with an accent on API integration, multi-tier architecture, and requirements documentation. Focus on mapping data across interfacing systems, validating applications and services, and diagnosing production issues through logs, databases, and scenario testing.
Location: Vienna, Virginia, United States; hybrid
Salary: $50–$70 per hour; long-term contract

What you will do
- Translate business needs into technical system requirements and identify requirement gaps.
- Define requirements and interface specifications for web, mobile, chat, voice, and service applications.
- Investigate enterprise and vendor APIs, map data between interfacing systems, and assess available data.
- Participate in Agile planning, Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
- Test and validate applications and services while working with business stakeholders, developers, and QA.
- Use documentation, databases, application logs, and scenario testing to identify root causes of system issues.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of relevant information technology experience.
- Experience capturing technical requirements for information systems and applications.
- Experience working with APIs and familiarity with multi-tier applications.
- Ability to write SQL queries and perform complex technical analysis across multiple products.
- Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, microservices, configurable system behavior, error handling, and XML/JSON data structures.
- Experience working in Agile methodology and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience using Postman or SoapUI to exercise APIs.
- Experience writing requirements for native mobile applications, frontend web applications, or backend services.
