Payroll Cluster Lead

Location: Hybrid, Sofia, Bulgaria

Salary: €32,000–€36,000 gross per annum, plus an annual performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Manage accurate, timely, and compliant monthly payroll processing for multiple EEMEA countries.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of four Payroll Specialists.
• Lead payroll vendor implementations and transitions, including planning, testing, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and go-live readiness.
• Develop payroll strategies, policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee year-end payroll activities, statutory deadlines, audits, tax-related work, and payroll discrepancy resolution.
• Design, implement, and operate SOX-compliant payroll controls while collaborating with HR, Finance, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of payroll operations experience across multiple EEMEA countries.
• Experience leading a team of payroll professionals.
• Strong understanding of multi-country payroll regulations and operational complexity.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify payroll errors and exceptions quickly.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

• Experience leading payroll implementations, vendor transitions, or payroll transformation projects across multiple countries.
