TL;DR
PHP Engineer (PHP/Symfony): Building and integrating APIs for a new lending product while optimizing established lending platforms with an accent on modern PHP development, automated testing, and domain-driven design. Focus on shaping new product capabilities, discussing architectural decisions, and developing reliable financial systems with message-driven and event-sourced components.
Location: Remote in the UK and select EU countries

is a fintech company building consumer finance products including loans, credit cards, and car finance for the UK and US markets.
What you will do
- Build and integrate APIs that improve the customer journey.
- Develop a new product within the existing US Loans team and lending platform.
- Optimize lending platforms and contribute to architectural discussions.
- Collaborate with experienced backend, frontend, mobile, and platform engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience.
- Modern PHP development experience with PHP 8.0+.
- Experience with Symfony or Laravel.
- Strong automated testing skills, including unit, integration, functional testing, Behat, and PHPUnit.
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design and the ability to work with ownership and autonomy.
- Must be eligible to work remotely from the UK or a selected EU country.
Nice to have
- Experience working on financial systems.
- Experience with message-driven systems and event sourcing.
