Senior Software Engineer, Developer Platform

What you will do

• Build and evolve the internal developer platform, tooling, automation, and services used across engineering.
• Design interfaces and abstractions for build, validation, continuous integration, and development workflows.
• Shape monorepo structure, shared conventions, project organization, and common engineering workflows.
• Develop Python services, workflows, and automation using technologies including GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, build systems, package management, and on-premise infrastructure.
• Improve developer experience through faster feedback, smoother workflows, and reliable engineering defaults.
• Work directly with engineers to identify friction and keep the platform scalable, maintainable, and reliable.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python or another programming language, with motivation to work extensively in Python.
• Experience building tooling, platforms, frameworks, or infrastructure used by other engineers.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or GitLab and solid knowledge of Docker.
• Interest in developer experience, clear interfaces, and reducing unnecessary complexity for engineering teams.
• Pragmatic approach, strong responsibility for quality and reliability, and clear technical communication.
• All employees must undergo security clearance during onboarding because of collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces.

Nice to have

• Experience with monorepos, build systems, or internal developer platforms.
• Experience working in on-premise environments.
• Experience in software-to-hardware product environments.
• Experience shaping teams or engineering systems in their early stages.

Hiring process

• Recruiter screening interview followed by a team meet-and-greet.
• Take-home case assignment, live coding session, and in-depth case interview.
