Senior Backend Developer (Golang)

Location: Fully remote or from a modern office; relocation opportunities are available to countries where the company has offices, subject to approval and available after the probation period.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain core platform services, including public APIs, transaction processing, partner catalogs and configurations, and internal administration tools.
• Design and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, validating changes before release and owning production quality without a dedicated QA team.
• Prepare configurations for feature launches and partner onboarding.
• Collaborate with Product, Integrations, Support, and DevOps on requirements, API contracts, and delivery timelines.
• Investigate production incidents using logs, metrics, and code analysis; identify workflow bottlenecks and improve engineering processes.
• Contribute to architectural and infrastructure initiatives, including proprietary cloud migration, event-driven architecture, analytical data warehouse development, code reviews, and technical decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience, including 3+ years of production experience with Go.
• Strong understanding of concurrency and data consistency, including race conditions, distributed locking, idempotency, retry strategies, and the transactional outbox pattern.
• Solid expertise in PostgreSQL, including transactions, isolation levels, partitioning, and migrations, plus experience with Redis.
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or equivalent technologies.
• Experience designing HTTP APIs, working with OpenAPI specifications, and maintaining backward compatibility.
• Strong code review skills and the ability to evaluate and explain technical decisions.
• Experience working without a dedicated QA team, including test case design, automated testing, and ownership of production release quality.
• Proactive approach to clarifying requirements, collaborating across teams, and driving issues through to resolution.
• Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar codebases, investigate complex issues, and communicate findings clearly in writing.
• Tech stack: Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, OpenTelemetry, GitLab CI, Kubernetes, and Docker.
