VP Corporate Development (Insurance)

What you will do

• Lead or support reinsurance transactions from target identification and bidding through structuring, negotiation, closing, and post-close refresh.
• Manage third-party reinsurance clients, including discussions on industry trends, products, rate-setting strategies, communications, and new business opportunities.
• Prepare transaction memoranda, management approval materials, and presentations for senior management, the Board of Directors, and potential counterparties.
• Analyze actuarial appraisals, confidential information memoranda, policy forms, product specifications, and projected cash flows.
• Develop transaction structures, inputs, and assumptions while researching actuarial concepts, regulations, capital markets, and insurance industry trends affecting deal valuation.
• Document internal controls, implement policies and procedures, improve transaction review processes, collaborate across business units, and mentor less experienced staff; some travel is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in insurance, investment banking, or financial services, with significant financial services or insurance experience preferred.
• Experience with financial analysis of annuities and/or life insurance.
• Designation from a professional actuarial or financial organization is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, prioritization, project management, collaboration, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of global accounting and regulatory regimes.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and the ability to maintain organization, flexibility, and auditability in large projects.
• Ability to complete work thoroughly and on time under time pressure and outside normal working hours, understand broad corporate impacts, and focus on company objectives.
• Ability to interact with executive management, directors, and counterparty management while maintaining confidentiality.
