EHS Specialist (Life Sciences)

Location: On-site at the Cytiva Songdo Site in Incheon, South Korea

Employment term: 12-month fixed-term contract

What you will do

• Implement site EHS policies, procedures, and programs through field inspections, Gemba walks, audits, and workplace risk assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and regulatory gaps, stop work when serious uncontrolled risks exist, and track corrective and preventive actions.
• Support occupational health and environmental compliance, including medical examinations, exposure monitoring, wastewater, waste, air emissions, odor, and regulatory reporting.
• Manage chemical and hazardous material safety, including approvals, risk assessments, labeling, storage, containment, inspections, and emergency controls.
• Coordinate EHS training, incident and near-miss investigations, documentation, metrics, emergency preparedness, drills, and response activities.
• Support site start-up initiatives and additional EHS projects as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in occupational safety, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, life sciences, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing, life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, laboratory, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and contractor safety management.
• Experience supporting compliance with Korean occupational safety, environmental, chemical, waste, and hazardous material regulations.
• Fluent written and spoken Korean and English, plus experience with Microsoft Office or EHS management systems.
• Foreign nationals must hold a legal work permit under Korean immigration law; a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel abroad may also be required.
