Location: The compensation range for this role is $150k-180k for individuals based full-time in San Francisco, CA.

What you will do
- Lead reliability engineering efforts across hardware programs, ensuring components and systems meet demanding performance, environmental, and durability requirements.
- Apply Design for Reliability (DfR) principles throughout the product lifecycle to proactively mitigate failure risks.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies to uncover failure modes, validate hardware, and model expected field performance.
- Plan and run Design of Experiments (DOE) to isolate root causes and address key reliability concerns.
- Design and optimize test fixtures and setups to evaluate hardware under electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stresses.
- Champion continuous improvement in reliability processes and tools across hardware engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on reliability engineering experience, preferably in electromechanical systems or sensors.
- Proven track record in testing and validating hardware components for long-term field performance.
- Strong understanding of physics of failure and reliability engineering principles.
- Experience with environmental and mechanical stress testing.
- Familiarity with reliability analysis tools and techniques: FMEA, Weibull analysis, SPC, HALT/HASS, and accelerated life testing.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
