Microsoft/Azure Stack Engineer Consultant (Azure)

Location: Hybrid, Amsterdam, Netherlands; flexible work across the office, home, and client sites. Travel for client work, mostly within the Benelux, is required.

What you will do

• Design and implement Azure infrastructure across networking, compute, storage, identity, and security.
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code deployment pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Manage Microsoft 365 and Azure governance, including security baselines, cost management, and compliance controls.
• Advise client teams on cloud migration strategy, landing zones, Azure architecture, and the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Build Azure AI Foundry demos and proofs of concept for new client opportunities.
• Document architecture decisions and operational procedures, troubleshoot hybrid and cloud-native environments, and mentor junior engineers when appropriate.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure compute, networking, storage, identity, and security services, including Entra ID/Azure AD.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable tools.
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or a similar language.
• Fluent Dutch and English and the ability to communicate technical trade-offs directly to clients.
• Work permit sponsorship is not available; senior candidates should have experience leading client-facing architecture decisions and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure AI Foundry or building AI demos and proofs of concept.
• Microsoft AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400 certification.
