TL;DR
Data Architect (Data Engineering): Building robust, scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data architectures for structured and unstructured data with an accent on distributed systems, data modeling, and batch, streaming, and real-time integration. Focus on designing Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure solutions, enabling CI/CD and DataOps practices, and leading client engagements from strategy through execution.

Location: Hybrid in Antwerpen, Belgium, with work from the office, home, and client sites

What you will do

  • Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
  • Build scalable data pipelines and architectures for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Design cloud and distributed data solutions using platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure, as well as frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
  • Develop data models and optimize relational, NoSQL, time-series, and graph database solutions.
  • Implement batch, streaming, and real-time integration patterns, including CI/CD and DataOps practices.
  • Develop internal Data Engineering offerings, contribute to thought leadership and business development, and mentor junior and medior consultants.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with substantial programming.
  • 3–6 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent academic research.
  • Proven interest and experience in Data Engineering, with strong analytical and systematic problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, adaptability, and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

  • Fluency in German or French.
  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, Spark, or Kafka.
