Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; hybrid with 3 days per week in the Zurich office

What you will do

• Translate product and business challenges into modeling problems, hypotheses, and measurable objectives.
• Build and ship production-ready, scalable machine learning solutions that improve traveler experience and business metrics.
• Develop recommendation systems for discovering and choosing travel options.
• Design experiments, create rapid prototypes, evaluate results rigorously, and iterate on promising ideas.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Engineering teams while communicating findings, recommendations, and trade-offs clearly.

Requirements

• Strong foundations in statistics, machine learning, and programming.
• Hands-on experience developing machine learning models in business or production environments.
• Experience solving complex, real-world data science problems and explaining contributions and impact.
• Ownership, sound judgment, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently.
• Fluency with AI-assisted workflows and the ability to critically assess their outputs and limitations.
• Ability to work from the Zurich office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch, Polars, CometML, Arize, Docker, Airflow, Trino, Git, or GitHub.
• Familiarity with Agile practices, including sprint planning and team ceremonies.
