Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office; new team members initially work full-time in the office.

What you will do

• Design, deliver and support production infrastructure services and medium-sized infrastructure changes and projects.
• Maintain resilient, secure and supportable infrastructure for a growing regulated business.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to incident and problem resolution.
• Produce technical designs, implementation plans, support handover materials and standards documentation.
• Work with Technology Services teams, suppliers and third-party support providers.
• Coach and guide less experienced engineers while improving services and reducing operational risk.

Requirements

• Strong experience in infrastructure engineering or a similar technical role, preferably in financial services, regulated or business-critical environments.
• Experience with VMware infrastructure, including VxRail, Aria Suite, NSX, HCX, vSAN, VCF or VMC.
• Knowledge of load balancing, Fortinet SD-WAN and firewall technologies, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Cisco networking.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, storage, backup, disaster recovery, identity and access management.
• Understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, capacity, maintainability, change control, governance and service management.
• Strong communication, decision-making, prioritisation and technical coaching skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, container platforms, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of security tooling such as SIEM, EDR, PAM, vulnerability management and micro-segmentation.
• ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum experience.
