Multi Core Competency Database Officer (Excel/Power BI)

What you will do

• Manage, maintain, and improve programme databases supporting Education, Protection, and Shelter programmes.
• Consolidate, clean, transform, validate, and analyse data from multiple sources using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
• Conduct data quality checks and verify information against source documentation.
• Develop data collection, monitoring, tracking, and reporting tools with programme and MEAL teams.
• Support secure data storage, controlled access, backup, recovery, and compliance with data protection requirements.
• Train and coach programme staff on database use, data entry, data quality, and data management tools.

Requirements

• Experience in database management, data processing, data analysis, reporting, and data quality control.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, logical functions, pivot tables, structured tables, data validation, and data cleaning.
• Practical experience with Power Query and Power BI is mandatory; basic GIS knowledge, preferably QGIS, is required.
• Experience developing, adjusting, and maintaining programme databases and consolidating data from multiple sources.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analysis, Economics, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
• Working knowledge of English is required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to support field teams remotely or in person are expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with KOBO Toolbox, Microsoft Forms, or similar digital data collection platforms.
• Experience with humanitarian or development programmes and databases supporting Education, Protection, or Shelter.
