Head of IT, Malaysia (Insurance)

What you will do

• Develop the technology strategy and set the technology direction for Malaysia.
• Lead the design, implementation, operational support, and integrity of technology systems.
• Manage Malaysia technology teams across strategic, operational, project, and production support functions.
• Work with the CEO and Malaysia Executive Team to deliver systems aligned with business objectives.
• Manage third-party vendors and collaborate with Asia Pacific and global technology centers of excellence.
• Set the technology vision, develop internal stakeholder relationships, and manage staff performance.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of Malaysia’s general insurance or financial services industry, including distribution channels, buying groups, and competitors.
• Demonstrated technology background and experience leading technology teams in the Malaysia general insurance industry.
• Strong technical and functional knowledge of systems and technology.
• Experience developing technology strategies, gaining stakeholder buy-in, managing vendors, and maintaining business-as-usual services.
• Experience working with internal and external auditors and familiarity with Bank Negara regulatory and RMiT guidelines.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, strategic thinking, and ability to explain technical information to different audiences.
