Associate Design Director

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; hybrid. The role is part of the Experience & Engineering team based in Copenhagen.

What you will do

• Own craft direction across complex projects and accounts, ensuring elevated, consistent, and distinctive design work.
• Define standards, improve processes, and enable teams to deliver consistently high-quality work.
• Provide high-level creative and product direction to clients and multidisciplinary internal teams.
• Drive experimentation and innovation to create benchmark-setting, award-winning work.
• Develop the design practice by evolving its craft vision, building team capabilities, and mentoring talent.
• Support pitches, growth opportunities, external talks, publications, and thought leadership by connecting creative direction to business impact.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in visual, UI, or UX design, including 3+ years at senior or leadership level.
• A portfolio demonstrating strategic impact, systems thinking, and high-quality execution across complex digital ecosystems.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to influence product, design, and business decisions with clear vision and rationale.
• Recognised design voice with the ability to inspire teams, raise craft standards, and contribute to the wider design community.
• Mentorship mindset with experience in coaching, structured feedback, and knowledge sharing.
• Curiosity about emerging tools, AI workflows, motion, and design trends.
• Deep understanding of visual principles, accessibility, and modern interaction patterns.
• Mastery of Figma and design systems.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to articulate design direction clearly and convincingly.
• Working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Motion design skills, including Jitter or After Effects.
