Translation Project Manager (Localization)

Location: Hybrid office environment in Spring Valley, California, United States; occasional travel and after-hours or weekend availability required.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise a multi-tier Project Management team, including workload, attendance, time-card management, performance reviews, and professional development.
• Monitor PM scorecards, provide technical and process guidance, and implement performance improvement or disciplinary measures when required.
• Audit project workflows, identify recurring issues, implement countermeasures, and make decisions on time-sensitive, tight-budget, or irregular requests.
• Review project finances, including completed-project checks and requests exceeding $10,000, and report potential profit losses above $1,000.
• Coordinate with DTP and ADA Supervisors, manage advanced or high-volume client accounts, facilitate kickoff meetings, and deliver bi-weekly reporting.
• Provide backup Project Manager coverage for all clients and remain a point of contact for after-hours, weekend, and holiday requests.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in translation project management.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience within a Language Service Provider.
• Advanced knowledge of CAT tools and translation memories, including memoQ, plus business management systems such as XTRF and collaboration tools such as Trello.
• Familiarity with ISO management and implementation in a translation context.
• Ability to troubleshoot portal issues and system integrations independently and negotiate rates and deadlines with global linguist vendors.
• Availability for after-hours, weekend, and holiday requests in a hybrid office role.
