Senior Machine Learning Scientist (AI)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Identify customer problems where machine learning can create measurable value and define the right ML framing.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, research problem areas, and select appropriate algorithms and tools.
• Design offline evaluations to establish whether proposed algorithms are likely to work.
• Develop and validate prototypes using supervised models, unsupervised clustering, and transformer-based neural networks.
• Partner with Product, Design, engineering, and ML product engineering teams to bring prototypes into production.
• Measure customer impact, communicate learnings, and guide iteration of ML products.

Requirements

• Broad applied machine learning knowledge and 3–5 years of applied ML experience.
• Practical statistics knowledge, including experiment design and handling confounding factors.
• Intermediate programming skills and the ability to conduct scientific research and analysis.
• Strong communication skills across engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a pragmatic approach to innovation.
• Advanced education in machine learning or a related field, such as an MSc.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping machine learning products or working in a research environment, including a PhD.
• Deep experience in NLP, deep learning, Bayesian methods, reinforcement learning, or clustering.
• Strong statistics or mathematics background.
• Visualization, data analysis, SQL, or matplotlib experience.
