Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS/GCP)

What you will do

• Design and implement cloud governance across AWS and GCP, including identity, account organization, access controls, and guardrails.
• Build reusable infrastructure primitives and Infrastructure as Code capabilities for safe, consistent provisioning.
• Create self-service workflows that help engineers move quickly within appropriate boundaries.
• Own resource governance, inventory, tagging, cross-account billing visibility, and cloud networking primitives such as IPAM and DNS.
• Develop security platform services including secrets storage, KMS, certificates, token vending, service-to-service authentication, and mTLS.
• Build, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, document, and continuously improve the systems owned by the platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud governance, platform engineering, and/or operations, including production systems at scale and on-call ownership.
• Experience completing a significant cloud migration, such as restructuring AWS accounts, introducing IaC, centralizing identity and SSO, or bringing a second cloud under governance.
• Deep expertise in tooling and cloud ecosystems, software engineering, and/or operations, with particular strength in at least one area.
• Practical experience with AWS, especially IAM and SSO, working knowledge of GCP, and production Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Production programming experience in Go, Rust, or a comparable systems language, where applicable to the candidate’s area of focus.
• Clear communication, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to collaborate in asynchronous, globally distributed teams.
