Validation Specialist (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Investigate and adjudicate discrepancies between hospital and CDAC abstractions to determine the gold-standard answer.
• Document discrepancy explanations and provide clear educational feedback to hospitals or CDAC personnel.
• Perform medical record abstraction to support module production goals.
• Enter collected data accurately using computer systems and maintain medical record confidentiality and PHI security.
• Follow established procedures and quality standards while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in a hospital, healthcare, or medical record review environment; related education or formal training may substitute.
• At least one year of medical record abstraction experience with above-average accuracy and productivity.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus additional technical training in medical record review; ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with healthcare quality measures and chart review methodologies.
• Experience meeting strict daily chart-volume quotas and accuracy standards.
