Project Procurement Manager (Life Sciences)

Location: Heerbrugg, Switzerland; international travel of up to 25% required

What you will do

• Lead procurement activities for new product introduction and strategic transition projects, managing scope, timelines, budgets, risks, milestones, and tollgate reporting.
• Drive supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, development, prototype sourcing, and readiness for critical components and long-lead items.
• Enable early supplier involvement and improve manufacturability, material selection, and product cost through Design-to-Cost, Should-Cost, and Total Cost of Ownership principles.
• Coordinate commercial negotiations and implement development contracts, pricing, lead-time, service-level, and other supplier terms with Commodity Managers.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality, Marketing, Commodity Management, Value Engineering, and suppliers in a global matrixed organization.
• Monitor supplier markets and emerging technologies while applying hirify.global Business System and Kaizen methods to improve procurement performance and governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• More than 7 years of experience in project management, preferably in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a global, matrixed organization.
• Experience with price and contract negotiations, preferably in high-mix, low-volume operations.
• Professional negotiation-level English is required.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP, e-procurement tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership, Should-Cost modeling, and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
