Intern - Machine Learning Ops

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA — headquarters. Summer term from May to August. Up to 10% travel may be required, including travel to client locations and company headquarters. Transportation and housing benefits may be available for students who meet relocation requirements.

Salary: $32.00–$41.80 per hour, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability coverage, 401(k), and PTO.

What you will do

• Build and scale software platforms supporting autonomous robotic capabilities.
• Collaborate with machine learning research and development teams to prepare models for production deployment.
• Optimize robotic fleet deployment pipelines from merge requests through testing and rollout using ONNX, TensorRT, and custom hardware.
• Maintain edge computing infrastructure for real-time performance and reliability.
• Build pipelines for dataset curation, labeling, training, validation, and evaluation metrics.
• Develop simulation, diagnostics, monitoring, and alerting capabilities for robotic system evaluation and fleet scale-up.

Requirements

• Pursuing a PhD or master’s degree in a related field.
• Coursework or project experience in computer science, software engineering, robotics engineering, machine learning, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ and the ability to deliver working code.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure or services, including Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with complex data systems, including storage, telemetry, camera, or sensor data.
• Familiarity with machine learning deployment technologies such as ONNX, TensorRT, Docker, or edge computing platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience improving compilation architectures or Docker Compose configurations for machine learning performance and shared hardware utilization.
