AI Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, with possible in-person work depending on location; New York, NY HQ USA. Stakeholders operate across GMT-8 to GMT+3, requiring occasional early or late meetings.

Salary: $88,277–$102,451 annual, calibrated according to work location, experience, skills, labor market, internal equity, and budget.

What you will do

• Administer IRC enterprise AI environments, including Anthropic Claude and OpenAI deployments, managing access, API keys, workspace settings, configurations, and deployment procedures.
• Monitor system health, API performance, usage, uptime, error rates, token consumption, and integration reliability; troubleshoot operational and production issues.
• Build and maintain Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript scripts, connectors, automations, and REST API integrations for AI-assisted workflows.
• Collaborate with DevOps, software engineering, data engineering, InfoSec, product, and operations stakeholders on deployments, data flows, security reviews, and technical designs.
• Support AI and knowledge-management pipelines, including vector-store ingestion, retrieval configuration, source-data connections, and integration troubleshooting.
• Maintain architecture notes, runbooks, SOPs, dependency maps, onboarding materials, and technical guidance while supporting rollout planning and implementation questions.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience administering enterprise AI platforms such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or comparable tools, including API management, access controls, and environment configuration.
• Familiarity with LLM application infrastructure, including prompt pipelines, Model Context Protocol, tool-calling integration frameworks, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation patterns, and embedding workflows.
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for scripting, automation, and lightweight integrations.
• Experience building and maintaining REST API integrations, including authentication, webhooks, and error management.
• Ability to work within existing codebases, use Git and standard deployment practices, and operate in live production environments where reliability and data integrity are critical.
• Experience monitoring distributed systems or SaaS platforms, including alerting, log review, and diagnosis of performance or availability issues.
• Familiarity with usage and cost monitoring for cloud or API-based services.
• Working knowledge of information security for SaaS and API-based systems, including access controls, credential management, data handling, and audit logging; ability to support InfoSec reviews and risk assessments.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues and program staff, contribute to cross-functional teams, and produce strong technical documentation.
