Software Engineer (AI) (JavaScript/TypeScript/Python): Building and maintaining the Speechmatics website and self-serve portal with an accent on production backend development, Vercel infrastructure, AI-assisted workflows, and conversion-focused product experiences. Focus on designing custom components, improving site performance, querying portal data, and solving technical challenges across the self-serve funnel.
Location: Belgrade, Serbia, with 2–3 designated office days each week

What you will do
- Own backend development and the ongoing technical health of the website and self-serve portal.
- Build custom components from design specifications and deliver reliable, performant, production-ready code.
- Manage Vercel deployments and backend infrastructure while improving site speed, stability, and reliability.
- Implement UI changes end-to-end and connect design decisions with production delivery.
- Write Python-based queries to generate insights from self-serve portal data and support data-driven decisions.
- Improve conversion across the self-serve funnel through effective product experiences and collaborate with product, design, and data teams.
Requirements
- Production experience with JavaScript and TypeScript for website backend development.
- Hands-on Python experience, especially for data queries.
- Experience with LLMs and AI-first development workflows using tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar.
- Experience in a product-led growth or self-serve SaaS environment, including understanding of conversion funnels.
- Experience managing and deploying to Vercel or equivalent modern hosting and deployment infrastructure.
- Strong autonomy, communication, transparency, and a pragmatic shipping-first mindset.
