Freelance Web Developer (Drupal) (Web Development/Public Sector): Analysing, redesigning, and redeveloping a high-profile institutional website with an accent on front-end enhancements, content architecture, accessibility, and governance requirements. Focus on integrating interactive and data-driven components, improving complex financial information experiences, and validating deployment within enterprise platform constraints.
Location: Remote/Hybrid, with applications accepted from anywhere in the world. For roles based in the UK, Belgium, Spain, or Germany, candidates must have the right to work there or be eligible for case-by-case visa sponsorship and be physically present in that country by the first day of employment or relocate beforehand.

What you will do
- Analyse the existing website structure, content, and user journeys.
- Advise on website architecture, information architecture, navigation, and content restructuring.
- Develop front-end enhancements and user-experience improvements using modern web technologies.
- Support interactive features, dashboards, analytical tools, API integrations, and data-driven components.
- Collaborate with web architects, designers, content specialists, and project stakeholders.
- Test, validate, optimise, deploy, and provide recommendations for ongoing maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with PHP, Java, or equivalent enterprise-level back-end technologies.
- Experience with API integrations, web services, enterprise web architectures, and content management systems.
- Practical experience with Drupal or a comparable enterprise content management platform.
- Experience in large-scale, regulated, governance-driven, public-sector, or institutional web environments.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Nice to have
- Experience with public-sector or large institutional websites.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience supporting complex stakeholder-facing digital communication projects.
