Business Analyst - Finance (FinTech)

Location: Leeds, hybrid

Salary: £80,000–£100,000 per annum for the contract listing; competitive market rate. Outside IR35.

What you will do

• Lead discovery sessions and workshops with Finance, Credit Control, and wider business stakeholders.
• Analyse and modernise processes covering orders, billing, invoicing, payments, disputes, credit calculations, and related data.
• Shape Finance and Billing functionality for a new bespoke business platform.
• Translate complex business rules and ambiguous problems into clear requirements for Engineering.
• Own and maintain the product backlog alongside software engineers through development and delivery.
• Use AI in day-to-day analysis to improve productivity, quality, and outcomes.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on knowledge of accountancy, finance, and billing processes.
• Experience with modern finance tools and processes such as Stripe, bank feeds, bank integrations, and payment or billing platforms.
• Experience shaping or modernising finance processes, including invoicing, billing, credits, disputes, payments, orders, and finance data.
• Proven experience working with software engineers to build bespoke or custom software and manage a product backlog.
• Strong requirements gathering, discovery workshop, prioritisation, dependency management, and senior stakeholder management skills.
• Active day-to-day use of AI is essential.

Nice to have

• Experience in FinTech or a technology-led finance environment.
