Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Detection (AI)

Location: USA - New York, NY; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week on-site

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Lead backend engineering from rapid prototypes through large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products.
• Design, build, and scale foundational services orchestrating data, content, and execution logic for detection platforms.
• Develop cloud-based systems for targeted-attack detection and automated cyber threat intelligence production.
• Build highly performant, scalable, and resilient services processing internet-scale data streams and enabling real-time detection generation.
• Collaborate across multiple teams, mentor developers, and contribute to architecture, performance, stability, and user experience improvements.
• Use AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or professional experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of scalability concepts, including sharding, partitioning, and concurrency.
• Experience with engineering best practices, testing, peer code reviews, resilient architecture, and continuous integration.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, unit-tested software in a fast-paced, collaborative, test-driven environment.
• Proficiency with or experience in Go or C++, cloud platforms, and backend or data-storage technologies.
• Team-oriented approach and ability to meet commitments on time.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go or C++, Scala, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, or Elasticsearch.
• Cybersecurity or intelligence experience.
• Open-source contributions through GitHub, Stack Overflow, or technical blogging.
• Experience designing programming languages or compilers.
