Middleware System Administrator / DevOps Engineer (JBoss/Azure DevOps)

What you will do

• Provision, configure, monitor, administer, patch, and upgrade JBoss EAP environments across development, QA, staging, and production.
• Configure JBoss standalone and domain modes, clustering, failover, routing, session handling, and integrations with enterprise application and web server components.
• Build and manage Azure DevOps workflows covering repositories, branching, pull requests, approvals, pipelines, artifacts, deployments, testing, and environment promotion.
• Package and deploy WAR/EAR applications through JBoss GUI and CLI tools, including rolling deployments and post-deployment validation.
• Monitor production platforms, investigate incidents, analyze logs and operational metrics, and perform root cause analysis.
• Automate administrative tasks and maintain deployment runbooks, rollback procedures, operational documentation, and monitoring reports.

Requirements

• Experienced administration of JBoss EAP 7/8.x, including standalone and domain mode configuration, clustering, failover, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on Azure DevOps experience with Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Artifacts, CI/CD, release controls, approvals, gates, and access management.
• Knowledge of mod_jk, mod_cluster, application deployment, datasource configuration, JVM settings, server configuration, and web server integrations.
• Experience tuning JVM heap and garbage collection, thread pools, datasource pools, caching, and web server performance.
• Ability to analyze thread dumps, heap dumps, logs, health checks, and performance metrics and to conduct root cause analysis.
• Shell/Bash scripting experience and ability to collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, application, and DevOps teams.
