Head of Accounting (Fintech)

Location: Munich, Germany; opportunity to work from abroad is available.

What you will do

• Lead and scale the accounting function across German GAAP (HGB/RechKredV) and IFRS.
• Design, standardize, and automate accounting processes across existing and new workstreams.
• Own cross-functional accounting projects and coordinate with internal stakeholders, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for monthly and annual close activities, including monthly tax reporting.
• Contribute to booking logic and posting patterns in the in-house core banking system.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in financial accounting under German GAAP (HGB) and with tax-related matters.
• Hands-on experience preparing consolidated annual financial statements and managing external audits.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and related reporting requirements.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, precise, and structured working style with strong problem-solving skills.
• Business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
