Tech Lead Manager, Platform (CI/CD)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office. A fully remote program is also available depending on location.

Base salary: $199,000–$275,000 USD annually, with potential bonuses, equity, and benefits for full-time employees.

What you will do

• Lead a team of four engineers while owning delivery, people management, hiring, coaching, performance feedback, and career development.
• Build and ship production code, author and review pull requests, and set technical direction, architecture, and quality standards.
• Own CI/CD, build, integration, artifact, and developer-productivity systems across GitHub, CircleCI, Artifactory, Sourcegraph, Qlty, and related tooling.
• Operate release-safety capabilities including canaries, progressive delivery, feature flagging, rollback, incident response, and service-level commitments.
• Balance platform roadmap work with reliability, security remediation, dependency upgrades, and operational maintenance.
• Coordinate with product engineering, security, Core Infrastructure, Release Enablement, Developer Foundations, and other Platform teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years leading or managing engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Production experience delivering CI/CD, build or release systems, developer-productivity platforms, and artifact management.
• Hands-on experience with CI systems such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI, production pull requests, technical design, and Ruby, Go, Python, or comparable languages.
• Experience with progressive delivery, canaries, release gates, feature flags, rollback strategies, reliability, observability, and incident response.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Argo CD, or GitOps-based deployment.
• Demonstrated use of AI coding agents and tooling to improve development and team velocity, plus strong written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sourcegraph, Artifactory, code-quality, and linting systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms such as Datadog.
• Experience in financial services or other high-reliability, regulated environments.
