Manufacturing Equipment Engineer 2 (Operations Intelligence)

What you will do

• Develop, troubleshoot, and support PLC/HMI-based equipment controls, sensors, and industrial communication interfaces.
• Connect manufacturing equipment data through OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and SECS/GEM.
• Build equipment tag mappings, contextualized databases, APIs, scalable data pipelines, dashboards, health indicators, and escalation workflows.
• Apply statistical analysis, time-series methods, machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing to anomaly detection, diagnostics, and performance improvement.
• Lead or support criticality assessments, FMEA, root-cause analysis, incident investigations, and transitions to usage- or condition-based maintenance.
• Collaborate with operations technology, automation, product, and software teams to deploy models and restore optimal functionality of manufacturing systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of experience using statistical modeling tools to analyze and improve yield, equipment performance, or data science outcomes.
• High fluency in spoken and written English, including presentation and technical communication skills.
• Ability to follow cGMP, quality, safety, and work-instruction requirements.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, complete cross-training, and maintain high discipline and integrity.

Nice to have

• Degree or equivalent background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is advantageous.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience with Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, or equivalent platforms.
• Knowledge of SQL, databases, APIs, software testing, system integration, Git, industrial data acquisition, SCADA/historian systems, and OT architecture.
• Proficiency in Python or R; familiarity with C#, JavaScript, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, JMP, Minitab, matplotlib, seaborn, or plotly.
• Experience with cloud computing, containerization, and data warehouses.
