What you will do
- Own and coordinate the monthly Malta payroll process with external payroll providers.
- Manage payroll records, timesheets, benefits, employee documentation, and HR data.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, benefits, employment matters, and employee relations.
- Manage work permits, right-to-work checks, immigration processes, and interactions with Maltese authorities.
- Improve local HR policies, procedures, systems, and automation while partnering with local and global stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of HR experience across HR operations, payroll, and employee lifecycle activities.
- Hands-on experience managing or coordinating Malta payroll.
- Strong knowledge of Maltese employment law, payroll requirements, and HR compliance.
- Experience working with Maltese authorities, including Identità, Jobsplus, and Maltese tax authorities.
- Experience with onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, work permits, and HRIS or payroll platforms such as BambooHR, Shireburn, or ADP.
- Fluent written and spoken English, strong attention to detail, discretion, communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, crypto, iGaming, financial services, or another fast-growing regulated industry.
- Experience improving or implementing HR processes, systems, or automation.
- Exposure to compensation and benefits analysis and pay transparency requirements.
- Experience in an international or global organisation.
