Principal Software Engineer (Frontend)

Location: Paris, France. The role is available in the specified city and may follow a hybrid-remote or in-office schedule.

Base salary: €108,000–€135,000 EUR annually.

What you will do

• Define the multi-year technical vision and roadmap for the frontend platform across multiple engineering teams.
• Shape the hirify.global Dashboard experience architecture, component strategy, and foundations for conversational and agentic user experiences.
• Drive convergence on a shared component library and reduce duplicated or inconsistent UI patterns.
• Design and deliver highly available, performant, resilient solutions for high-volume customer-facing applications.
• Own solutions from delivery through adoption by engineering teams and customers, including public libraries used on customer sites.
• Set API design, versioning, backward-compatibility, engineering standards, and best practices while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and a track record of setting technical direction across multiple teams.
• Deep frontend expertise with TypeScript, the modern web platform, React or other major frameworks, accessibility, bundle size, and runtime performance.
• Experience designing full-stack solutions involving APIs, backend services, microservice architectures, and delivery infrastructure.
• Experience designing and maintaining public libraries, SDKs, or design systems, including API ergonomics and breaking-change management.
• Experience building complex, high-traffic, multi-product web applications and leading cross-team UI consolidation efforts.
• Strong communication and organization skills, with experience leading large cross-cutting projects and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with conversational and agentic interfaces, including chat, streaming responses, and tool-driven workflows.
• Familiarity with search UX patterns, generative AI, and agentic experiences.
• Experience working in a high-growth environment with more than 10,000 customers and significant internal infrastructure development.
• Experience as a technical thought leader through talks, open source, or technical writing.
