TL;DR
Senior Technical Artist (Unreal Engine): Developing techniques, tools, and optimization workflows for the visual aspects of AA to AAA games with an accent on Unreal Engine 5, node-based shaders, VFX, lighting, and real-time 3D constraints. Focus on supporting artists and programmers, profiling performance, mentoring technical teams, and solving complex visual production challenges.
Location: Hybrid in Montréal, Quebec, Canada

What you will do
- Develop techniques and processes for creating, tooling, and optimizing game visuals.
- Communicate and document technical processes and procedures.
- Provide day-to-day technical direction, support, and mentoring to artists.
- Support art and programming teams in delivering their work.
Requirements
- College or university diploma in programming, 3D art, or equivalent training.
- At least 6 years of experience as a technical artist or in an equivalent role.
- Experience delivering AA to AAA-rated projects.
- Good to advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 or later.
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Blender, Maya, Substance, Houdini, Perforce, and Visual Studio.
- Experience with node-based shaders, HLSL, PBR, VFX, HDR lighting, Blueprints, Python, profiling tools, and real-time 3D hardware constraints.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of C# and C++.
- Experience with Unreal Insights, PIX, RenderDoc, or Razor.
- Leadership, strong communication, analytical skills, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
