Fullstack QA Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Kazakhstan

Salary: EUR 900–1,500 gross per month

What you will do

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and mobile testing for secure payment services.
• Test REST APIs, microservices, external integrations, Kafka messaging, and asynchronous event processing.
• Validate payment states, state transitions, retries, timeouts, duplicate requests, failures, and recovery scenarios.
• Use SQL to verify transaction data and cross-check API responses, Kafka events, and database records.
• Develop and maintain automated API and integration tests and contribute to the regression suite.
• Analyze logs, trace requests across distributed systems, document defects, and verify fixes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial experience in functional and integration testing of backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with REST API testing, interconnected systems, Kafka, synchronous and asynchronous integrations, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating data consistency across APIs, Kafka, and databases.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated API and integration tests.
• Knowledge of HTTP, JSON, REST, authentication and authorization, test design techniques, and defect root-cause analysis in distributed systems.
• English at Intermediate level or above; position available in Kazakhstan.

Nice to have

• Experience with banking, payment, or fintech projects and payment transaction lifecycles.
• Automation experience with Go, Python, Postman/Newman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Experience testing iOS and Android applications.
• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
