Electronics and Health & Safety Trainer

Location: Birmingham, UK, with course delivery across the UK at regional training hubs. The role requires a full UK driving licence and regular physical work at buildings, tower structures, and roadside infrastructure.

What you will do

• Create and deliver written, classroom, and practical training for new and existing technicians and engineers.
• Act as a subject matter expert for electronics, technical hardware, health and safety, emerging network technologies, and new tools.
• Conduct quality audits of field engineers’ maintenance and installation activities.
• Perform on-site risk assessments, identify hazards, report incidents and near misses, and challenge unsafe practices.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BT policies, documented procedures, and required internal sign-off processes.
• Coach team members, support continuous improvement, maintain tools and PPE, and drive issues through to resolution.

Requirements

• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and safety information to a wide range of learners.
• Strong safety and attention-to-detail mindset, with confidence challenging unsafe practices and holding people accountable.
• Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, crouch, climb, work at floor and ceiling level, lift heavy drums and cables, and recognise coloured wiring.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ability to deliver courses across the UK and work at regional training hubs and field locations.

Nice to have

• Internal or external training qualifications such as Trained Trainer, C&G, or CAVA.
• Experience delivering training or writing technical briefings and training materials.
• Experience as an Electronics Engineer with the Electronics Engineering EPA and Training Pathway.
• Experience as an IXD Engineer with electronics skills or training capability.
