Casual Study Doctor – Neurogenetics (Clinical Research)

Location: Grafton Campus, Auckland, New Zealand; participant assessments are conducted at the Clinical Research Centre.

What you will do

• Conduct participant eligibility assessments, obtain informed consent, take medical histories, and review concomitant medications.
• Perform protocol-specific physical and neurological examinations and document assessments according to Good Clinical Practice.
• Monitor participant safety through laboratory and ECG review, communicate clinically relevant findings, and support appropriate clinical decisions.
• Perform trained study procedures, including venepuncture, certified rating scales, and study software assessments.
• Support clinical trials by checking investigational products, supervising administration, responding to infusion concerns, and assessing adverse events and serious adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with study coordinators, allied health professionals, international research partners, sponsors, and study monitors.

Requirements

• Current registration and practising certificate with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• At least three years of postgraduate clinical experience.
• Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills, with strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Current professional indemnity insurance and up-to-date CPR.

Nice to have

• Experience in general practice or neurology.
• Interest in or experience with clinical research and current GCP certification.
• Experience with neurological examination, assessment, or chronic neurological disorders.
