M&A Analyst (Software)

Location: Canada; remote

Salary: CAD $50,000–$90,000, based on experience and background

What you will do

• Identify software businesses that meet acquisition criteria and target metrics.
• Research industries and markets to understand trends and find new acquisition opportunities.
• Develop and execute prospecting campaigns through email and outbound calling.
• Perform preliminary business and financial due diligence, including opportunity and risk assessment.
• Maintain and update the acquisition deal pipeline and convert investment data into concise presentations.
• Build quantitative models, analyze target-company files, and coordinate data requests and due diligence with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting.
• Previous software M&A experience.
• Strong academic performance at a top-tier institution; an undergraduate business degree is viewed favorably.
• Maturity and presence to interact with C-level executives.
• Strong sales, communication, analytical, and Excel skills with close attention to detail.
• Self-starter with the ability to work effectively across teams.
