Freelance Event Specialist

Location: On-site in San Francisco de Heredia, Costa Rica; candidates must already be based there. No relocation packages are offered.

What you will do

• Coordinate the onsite delivery of corporate volunteering, team-building, social-impact activities, and other in-person events.
• Attend virtual planning meetings with corporate partners, nonprofit organizations, event hosts, coordinators, and venue representatives.
• Set up event spaces, align onsite roles, manage check-in, welcome guests, and maintain a high-quality customer experience.
• Represent hirify.global as the onsite leader and resolve issues involving supplies, staffing, technology, and event logistics.
• Share updates, photos, and videos with the Events Team and escalate issues when necessary.
• Break down event spaces, clean sites, repackage materials, apply shipping labels, and help load boxes for shipment.

Requirements

• Fluent English and strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Current residence in San Francisco de Heredia, Costa Rica and availability to work on a per-event contract basis.
• Experience with complex large-scale events and smaller executive-level events.
• Resourceful, organized, detail-oriented, solutions-minded, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Experience with group facilitation, managing group dynamics, and interacting with large crowds.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends, travel within the local region, lift or carry up to 30 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
