Senior Data Engineer, NimbleRx (AI/Healthcare)

What you will do

• Own the NimbleRx data platform end to end, including ingestion, transformation, storage, querying, access, and roadmap development.
• Build and evolve batch and streaming pipelines using PySpark, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, Step Functions, and Iceberg-based lake storage.
• Design warehouse models, including slowly changing dimension tables, event tables, and data conventions.
• Partner with product, engineering, analytics, and operations to deliver reliable pipelines, documentation, and self-service tooling.
• Own security and compliance capabilities such as audit logging, access control, and temporary-access workflows.
• Optimize Postgres and Java/Spring services, investigate infrastructure failures, develop internal AI tooling, and mentor engineers and analysts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production data pipelines and platforms.
• Deep Python, PySpark, and SQL skills, including Spark performance tuning at scale.
• Experience with distributed compute, streaming, object storage, Postgres optimization, replication, and query performance.
• Experience with Iceberg and Trino or comparable technologies, plus CI/CD and Terraform.
• Ability to work with Java and Spring Boot services surrounding the data layer.
• Current Canadian work authorization is strongly preferred; visa sponsorship may be considered exceptionally for highly qualified candidates with specialized skills.

• Experience building with frontier AI models, agentic coding tools, or internal AI solutions.
