Level 3 DDC Controls Technician (Building Automation)

Location: Remote, United States, with work around the Southwest Florida area and travel to project sites as required

What you will do

• Lead complex commercial DDC controls projects from installation and programming through startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and closeout.
• Program and configure controllers, supervisory devices, graphics, and peripheral equipment using Reliable, Niagara, Tridium, or equivalent platforms.
• Develop control logic and sequences for HVAC equipment, energy efficiency, occupant comfort, reliability, and proper equipment operation.
• Perform point-to-point checkout, functional testing, system startup, commissioning, inspections, and performance verification.
• Troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, relays, networks, communication protocols, and equipment interfaces.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, IT personnel, commissioning agents, project managers, equipment manufacturers, and customers while providing field leadership to junior technicians.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with DDC controls, building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field.
• Advanced programming experience with Reliable, Niagara, Tridium, or equivalent DDC/BAS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/IP, Ethernet, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, low-voltage controls wiring, 24VAC systems, electrical troubleshooting, and applicable electrical codes.
• Ability to interpret controls drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical plans, sequences of operation, specifications, and equipment documentation.
• Valid driver's license, ability to travel to project sites, high school diploma or equivalent, and demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Technical degree, trade certification, or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, controls, or a related field.
• Equivalent hands-on experience in place of formal education.
