Software Developer (Node.js)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship required. Core working hours are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours release and production support.

What you will do

• Develop, test, enhance, and maintain modern frontend components and Node.js backend services.
• Translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into technical designs and implementation tasks.
• Develop, integrate, and support RESTful APIs and internal and external system integrations.
• Write secure, maintainable code and remediate vulnerabilities identified through CI/CD pipelines.
• Build automated unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and promote releases across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Troubleshoot production defects and performance issues, support demonstrations and user acceptance testing, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable suitability determination for a moderate-risk Public Trust position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of professional experience developing enterprise web applications across frontend and service layers.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework such as Angular, React, or Vue, plus TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, and CSS.
• Working proficiency with Node.js, RESTful APIs, relational databases, SQL, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with secure coding, application performance, Agile or Scrum delivery, accessibility requirements, and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Angular and TypeScript experience, including component architecture, reactive forms, and RxJS.
• Federal Government application development, AWS, microservices, micro frontends, Docker, or production incident support experience.
• Experience with Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Jest, Jasmine/Karma, or comparable tools.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FISMA, DISA STIGs, or related security and compliance requirements.
• CompTIA Security+ CE, an AWS Developer certification, an existing federal suitability determination, or a related master’s degree.
