Principle Software Engineering – Continuous Integration & Quality Gating (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Markham, Ontario; onsite presence required at least three times per week

What you will do

• Establish end-to-end CI/CD reference architecture for platform software across component, pillar, system-of-systems, and release-train flows.
• Define build, versioning, validation, promotion, dependency management, and release processes for embedded binaries, containers, MCU and SoC images, calibration, configuration, and test assets.
• Design tiered quality gates that protect the mainline, reject invalid or incompatible artifacts, and ensure sufficient test evidence before promotion.
• Connect GitHub Enterprise, cloud build infrastructure, artifact repositories, virtual and physical test environments, dashboards, and release systems into a traceable delivery path.
• Integrate validation across unit, static, component, integration, simulation, CoSIM, SIL, HIL, bench, and vehicle-system environments.
• Lead architecture reviews, cross-functional technical decisions, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of pipeline reliability and release confidence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 15 years of experience in software development and deployment.
• Experience with MCU and SoC build systems, embedded Linux, AUTOSAR, Yocto, containers, cross-compilation, boot, flashing, or vehicle deployment tooling.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise migration, cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes or equivalent platforms, large-scale self-hosted runners, and artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory.
• Experience implementing static analysis, coding standards, security scanning, coverage policies, compliance evidence, reusable pipeline templates, and developer-facing metrics.
• Knowledge of functional safety, ISO 26262, cybersecurity engineering, ASPICE, MISRA, AUTOSAR, or related automotive practices.

• Advanced degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
