Software Engineer I (AI)

Base salary: $92,500–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain scoped features across user interfaces, backend services, and APIs.
• Build AI-powered experiences for knowledge discovery, analytics, and workflow automation.
• Integrate AI services and enterprise APIs using secure patterns, human review, and reliable error handling.
• Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation while validating generated output.
• Evaluate AI features, identify inaccurate or unexpected results, and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and product partners, respond to code review feedback, and help monitor and troubleshoot production applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–2 years of software development experience, including internships or co-ops.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with APIs and SQL or NoSQL databases, plus software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, version control, testing, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and building AI-powered systems through work, coursework, or personal projects.
• Awareness of AI limitations, sensitive-data protection, and the need to validate generated results.

Nice to have

• Experience with React and TypeScript or a comparable frontend framework.
• Experience with language model APIs, prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, or AI response evaluation.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containers, application monitoring, data processing, analytics, supply chain, or enterprise software.
