Staff Data Engineer (League of Legends)

Location: Based out of the Los Angeles headquarters, United States

What you will do

• Design and lead data architectures supporting advanced analytics and machine learning models.
• Develop scalable medallion-oriented data models for growing data volumes.
• Design ETL processes and data integration strategies for diverse data sources and formats.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, engineers, League of Legends teams, service teams, and platform teams.
• Optimize high-volume data flows and processing by identifying and resolving system bottlenecks.
• Lead data governance, data quality, metadata management, and production on-call operations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience developing scalable data systems.
• Experience mentoring others in data engineering best practices and setting project technical direction.
• Extensive experience with standard data models, event-driven architecture, and data modeling for business insights.
• Experience with dbt, Spark, SQL, Airflow, or equivalent data technologies.
• Experience working with Python and cloud computing technologies such as AWS.
• Ability to collaborate with machine learning engineers and analysts and communicate complex data concepts to stakeholders.
