Head of Legal Benelux (Payments)

Location: Hybrid in Brussels, Belgium; the role covers Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg and requires travel across Benelux and to other hirify.global offices.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and mentor the legal team across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
• Provide strategic and tactical legal advice to hirify.global business lines and regulated entities across Benelux.
• Lead negotiation, drafting, and review of commercial, technical, vendor, partner, and payment scheme agreements.
• Coordinate regulatory, compliance, corporate governance, data protection, and dispute resolution matters.
• Support M&A, due diligence, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and corporate development initiatives.
• Develop legal policies, risk registers, training programs, and knowledge-management practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in law, such as an LLM or equivalent, with qualification to practise in at least one Belgian, Dutch, or Luxembourgish jurisdiction.
• Excellent written and spoken English required; Dutch and French proficiency is highly desirable.
• 10–15 years of international or multi-market legal experience, including significant leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian, Dutch, and/or Luxembourgish corporate law, commercial contracts, dispute resolution, GDPR, and regulatory matters.
• Strong negotiation, communication, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel across Benelux and to other hirify.global offices.

• Experience in payments, financial services, or other regulated industries.
